A Special Message on March 15, 2020

March 15, 2020

Dear Practice Members,

Our practice is OPEN for Business.

Please know we are taking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously.

To help contain the spread of the virus, please let us know in advance of your next visit if:

  1. You have traveled internationally in the last 14 days or returned from a cruise in the last 14 days.
  2. You have any flu-like symptoms, esp. fever, cough or difficulty breathing.
  3. You have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).
  4. You have been directly exposed to someone who has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We have implemented the following changes to our practice until the threat of the virus has subsided:

  1. We have changed our morning hours from 8-12 (M, W, Th) and afternoon hours between 2-6 (M, T, W, Th) for the purpose of decreasing the number of people in the office at any one time.
  2. We have stopped doing spinal thermography scans to shorten the time patients are in the office.
  3. We have stopped having patients answer questions on the computers.
  4. We are asking all patients to wash their hands or to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building.
  5. We have designated Table #2 for our senior and maternity patients.
  6. We have significantly increased our anti-viral cleaning efforts by cleaning the adjusting tables, doorknobs, light switches and faucets multiple times daily. Additionally, supplies will be available for you to disinfect/sanitize the adjusting tables if you so choose before your individual use.
  7. We have removed the toys from the reception room.

The best practices to follow to prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • Get regular spinal adjustments as they are well known to increase immunity. Consider getting them more frequently until the viral threat passes.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water frequently.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Get an extra 30-60 minutes of sleep per day.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Stay home if your sick.
  • Use Agrisept-L daily, which is a natural anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal antioxidant available in our office.
  • Take other products to boost your immunity. We recommend taking Youth Factor, probiotics, Vitamin D3, Vitamin C.

A Message from Our Office Regarding Being Proactive and the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As a valued member of our Madeira Chiropractic Wellness Center, Inc. family, we appreciate the trust you place in us. As the concerns about the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) intensify, please know that we are taking steps to ensure your safety at home and when you visit us.

We are daily staying abreast of all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), US Department of Health and the PA Department of Health.

In the clinic we have intensified our housekeeping and infection control procedures and being diligent with hand washing and use of hand sanitizers. We strongly encourage all patients to wash their hands when you first walk into the clinic. Most people who do get sick will only experience the typical signs of the common cold or flu. Those most at risk are seniors (and those of any age) who are immune-compromised such as those with heart, lung or immune disorders or are diabetic.

Please be reminded that one of the best ways to keep your immunity strong is with regular chiropractic care. Additionally, we will continue to keep you updated on everything you can do to be proactive at home to protect you and your family as more information becomes available.

Steps You Can Take Now to be Proactive in Preventing the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

  • Keep your immune system strong by getting regular chiropractic adjustments.
  • Increase the frequency of your chiropractic care between now and June 1, 2020.
  • Wash your hands often for 20 seconds with warm water and soap. Focus on thumbs and especially fingertips.
  • Get plenty of sleep each night. If you have difficulty sleeping, ask us to recommend a natural supplement to enhance your ability to sleep.
  • Eat a healthy diet and limit your intake of sugar as this is known to lower immunity.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as much as possible.
  • Consider using preventive supplements to boost your immunity such as Agrisept-L, Elderberry (syrup or lozenges), probiotics and daily Vitamin C intake.
  • Avoid non-essential plane travel, avoid cruise ships.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid being around others if you become sick.
  • Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue or elbow instead of your hand. Throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands afterwards.
  • Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces at home such as doorknobs, light switches, faucets, toilets and countertops.
  • Please note the CDC recommends that face masks only be worn by those who are sick.
